The number of moviegoers continues to see a slump after the Chuseok holiday. Even Hollywood blockbusters and high-quality thrillers flopped at the box office, mostly because of the increased ticket price, audiencesŌĆÖ higher expectations, and the rise of OTT platforms. The number of people who visited the theater on October 31st was 95,842. This figure is seriously low, even considering that itŌĆÖs the off-season in theaters. ItŌĆÖs as if theaters had returned to 2020 when COVID-19 reached its peak. The mere fact top stars are leading the movies is not enough to attract audiences. Black Adam, starring Dwayne Johnson, has only attracted 660K audiences, and the two new Korean movies ŌĆō Confession, starring So Ji Sub and Kim Yunjin, and Remember, starring Lee Sung Min and Nam Joo Hyuk ŌĆō barely managed to surpass the 300K mark on the 6th day of its release. The highly-anticipated movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit the screen on the 9th, but even the Marvel movies canŌĆÖt guarantee its success at this rate. Source (1)
